At Home

from "Stars fell on Livaniana," 2015, by Stefan Krauss

At Home

Within anything that lives there is structure
and segments of chaos both

In any house live the forces that can unbuild it

The doorbell’s voice lives alongside its beloved
named Silence

The dirt adheres to laws made by
no person

but by the subconscious of the dirt

Meanwhile there is much rejoicing in the lawlessness
of what will just grow
